Comments from our editors:
This book shows how to replace complete sections or repair small areas of wicker, cane and rush furniture.

With black-and-white illustrations and step-by-step directions, the authors explain a variety of wicker including cane, rush, splint, Shaker, rawhide, Danish cord and binder cane. Hand-weaving patterns range from simple to complex.

Also covered are special techniques and proper maintenance of woven furniture.

Co-author Jim Widess, is the owner of The Caning Shop, which sells materials used in cane and basketry, as well as repairing wicker and cane furniture.
