Haha. For the most part, I cook, and DH bakes. He's already made about a dozen batches of muffins and pancakes in there! Have fun with your pantry!ElizabethLee wrote:Now when are you going to put that baking center to use and make us some cookies?

Thanks for your compliments. It turned out just as I had hoped. The fabric doors actually happened because I don't have a router so I couldn't insert a panel into them. The fabric is from the Aunt Grace collection. http://www.mamasloghousequiltshop.com/scripts/quiltshop.asp?category=Fabric&FabricCat...

Pantry before and after
Hi all. I haven't been around OHW in quite a while but thought I'd pop back in to share some pictures. This is the 6x6 pantry in my 1920's kitchen. The kitchen itself has very little counter space so I put a baking center in the pantry. The main kitchen still needs work, but this has helped incredib...

Hostas are really easy! Definitely get some. I had a huge one that I chopped into 4 parts and all came back the next spring.KathyJB wrote:Are Hosta hard to grow? I have several shady areas that would probably work for planting them.

Re: Old houses...old lawnmowers?
The POs left us a Scotts Classic reel mower. After years of tuneups and fighting to get the gas mower to work, it's a relief! We only have .12 acres though so it's a 30 minute job.

Re: carpet runners
Since my family does not wear shoes on the stairs, carpet is safer for us. Of course it must be securely fastened. But bare wood and socks are not a good mix.
