whole home rewire

Can someone advise on the best way to find a qualified electrician to rewire an older home? My house is a 1903 2 story with a mishmash of wiring that was partly upgraded by previous owners, but makes me very nervous. I have several light fixtures that no longer work and some receptacles that no long...

The hole that the pivoting door covers was cut through. In regards to the tub. The linoleum is new, so t...

clawfoot tub questions

So, I finally closed on my house. I am planning on moving in the last weekend of May, so I am taking some time now to do clean up/painting, etc. The first floor bathroom needs some work. Here is a picture: http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b222/Talonstorm/235%20South%20E%20Street/IMG_0160-1.jpg The ...

Re: Another new to forum/house type ID

Thanks! Yes, 2 clawfoot tubs. Even better is that there are 2 walk in closets in the master bedroom, one on each side! :D

I am set to close on the house today, very excited!!

Re: Awesome house for sale in Michigan...Wow!

^ Wow! Some of the prices of the ones for sale are unbelievably low - is Detroit a depressed real estate market? The "under $70000" section has beautiful houses for a third of what I paid for my heap. I was shocked at the prices too! Some of those houses are incredible and they are practica...

This one certainly has an art-deco look to it http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b222/Talonstorm/New%20house%20listing%20pics/entry.jpg Please forgive the cell phone pictures, I forgot my camera the day I took these. Here is a close up of that light fixture: http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b222/Ta...

Re: Another new to forum/house type ID

They are from the listing. I have the ones I took on the walk through too, but the house is now empty, so these give a better idea of what it could look like. How can you tell they are phone pictures? I hadn't noticed that.

Re: Another new to forum/house type ID

Thanks. The home inspection went really well, so I am excited. Set to close in mid April if everything else goes ok. Here are some more pictures: http://s20.photobucket.com/albums/b222/Talonstorm/New%20house%20listing%20pics/ Those are the listing pictures with the PO's furniture. They are nicer tha...
