Pointing paving slabs.

I had my patio Slabbed a year ago and already weeds are growing in between them. I suspect that I need to re-point them and am asking for advice on the method and mortar mix.

Many thanks for the advice. I served an apprenticeship as a Bricklayer in the early 1950s when Lime Mortar had stopped being used being replaced by bagged lime mixed with cement and sand.
