The very same. One part peppermint oil to two of rubbing alcohol and dip a few cotton balls in it and leave in the hole or spray it on with a mister.

Soak the hole and the area around it with peppermint oil or oil of wintergreen. Mice will run from it with their dirty little heads crying from the smell.

I used Florentine glass in my bathroom, and it does something like that. It's pretty cheap too-enough for the bottom of a decent size double hung was 20 bucks.
