Re: The Beaver Board is gone. What now? Seeking opinions

I think it all depends on the look you are going for. I vote for refinishing the ceiling and drywalling the walls. Refinishing all the wood would look to "log cabin" to me. Another option would be to drywall the upper 3/4 of the walls and leave the lower refinished as a wainscoat. Good luck!

Right on Abuela!! I too feel that 18th's comments were EXTREMELY harsh. Man, you were just telling others about a cabinet you liked and were getting....wow! Merry Christmas! Not EVERYONE on here is on the attack! Good luck with your surgery by the way!

I have oggled over that building for years every time I go up to the Thousand Islands. It is SOOOOOO cool! I really wish someone would save it!

Re: Sunroom Addition

Unfortunately, bugs in New England are pretty bad in the summer - black flies in the late spring, mosquitos in the summer, flies...all the fun stuff. I wish no screens were needed, that would be AWESOME! :)

Re: Metal Ceiling

I have used the Home Depot tiles before to add interest to the office ceiling in our previous home. They are extremely easy to hang up. You use liquid nails to adhere them to the ceiling. I used the antique brass finish (not as shiny). I did an 8x12 room in a couple of hours. The panels are 2x4 so t...

Re: Picture Rails

My picture rails are right under the crown molding, so I guess its all how the builder/designer wanted it to look. As far as getting the hooks - VanDykes has them: http://www.vandykes.com or I just went to my local frame/art store and bought a handful of them from them for like $20
