Re: Weekend motivation tactics
I convince myself Ill "just work on it for an hour". then Ill get up, work on it for 2-3 hours then sit down for a cold one. Then Ill usually futz with another project "for an hour" and then go back to the other. Most projects take me 3 times as long as they should, but Im happy.

Re: How to not feel completely overwhelmed?
I keep multiple projects going on all at once. Usually a large one and a handful of small ones that don't "need" to be done. When I tire (mentally or physically) of the large project Ill set that down for a couple of days and go tinker on other stuff. My DW always reminds me we will be here for year...

I also think (have no idea if this is valid or not) that the windbreaks of trees that were planted by settlers and farmers contributed to mitigating wind damage. We have had many people compliment us on them as they walk by. We also have some ferns and some other unidentified Hosta type pla...

Re: Will you ever rent your house out?
One of my dreams, which my teacher husband does not share, is renting to student teachers for the 10 weeks or whatever that they are student teaching. I remember how lucky I was to find a furnished apartment with someone who would rent to me Oct 15-Dec. 15. The way I figure it, they would be gone d...
