I was on the Minneapolis public library site and found they have scanned loads of old City maps going back to the 1870's. I found the name of the owner of the plot of land my house sits on from the 1880's and also found out that at the same time the property my house sits on was in the city of Richf...

I also have used the Ikea program. Im still in the planning and head scratching stage, but it did help me visualize things with the 3D view. Mostly, many of my ideas were pretty horrible and a few ideas popped up once I was able to "see" it.

not sure about code in your area, but doesnt the romex need to be secured every (insert distance here) distance?

I'm also not an electrician but that scares me. Just because it meets code doesnt mean its done right.
