We have similar cabinets, in our 1930 tudor. I'd never bother stripping them. They were originally painted, and that's how they were meant to be.

Does it cause noxious gasses to be released? We get a bad smell assumably off of the paint when using it.

Seriously, I am unimpressed. It bubbles IN THE MIDDLE, and the rest merely softens. We'll see after more than an hour's worth of use if it was worth the cost.

What about using the new rot/insect resistant synthetic decking stuff. Basically, its sawdust and some sort of resin IIRC. You could cut everything yourself, and just make your own. Anybody know what I'm talking about?
