Started demo tonight :)

Hi everybody, Just wanted to let you know that me and hubby started demo tonight. We got two closets ripped out, and took a 'peek' above the drop ceiling in the kitchen. Attached is a picture of what we found. Hummmmm, purty colors, huh??? We've also decided to make the 'sunroom' our laundry...

Re: Found my dream sewing room

"Anyway, the topic of old machines is timely. My boss mentioned yesterday that his wife has an old treadle machine by White. They broke the needle and have not been able to find replacements. Any tips on where to go and look? Thanks -Lori" ~~~~~~~~~~~ Hey Lori (and others!) who are interested in res...

Re: New vintage-style bath fixtures?

Well, it was hard but I found a 'not nudie' picture of my original tub (me and my sister are in the bath, but hidden by bubbles). Yes, we still have it, and it would've been one to put in the "save the pink bathrooms" file. Wow, am I ever unearthing some memories!

Re: Think I've got some plans for the house - a least a start!

Hi Mury, Actually, we won't be able to open up the built in tothe side because that's where we're putting the washer/dryer. Also no longer have the doors for it (I'm sure they got ditched, along with the original front door, which KILLS me!). This sure is a learning process. Picking up my stained gl...

Re: New vintage-style bath fixtures?

Hey Chris, Thanks so much for posting a picture of your tub. CAN'T wait to get our tenant out of the house now, because from what I remember we have the EXACT tub upstairs, which now I believe was original to the house. Can't really sneak in and look with him there. Took a lot of bubble baths in tha...

Re: Found my dream sewing room

Hey, thanks, Warren. I LOVE that sewing armoire, and got it on craigslist (my most fav way to shop!) for $60 bucks! Nice thing is that it folds up and everything is hidden. That's kinda the idea behind the sewing room inspiration. Find antique furniture (armoires, dressers, etc.) that I can put my s...

Found my dream sewing room

Hi again everybody (yes, it's me again), Just wanted to share a picture (since I know how much you all love looking at pictures) of my 'inspiration picture' for my sewing room. I've decided to use all antique furniture for my storage, which would look great with my old treadles and hand crank machin...
