If you go all red, people will say it looks like a barn. I LIKE it, I'm just saying. What about two tones of the same color, darker on bottom, lighter on top? Are you trying to match the brick, or do you want it (the brick) to stand out?

I personally love simple white cafe curtains in a bathroom. Light coming in on top, privacy on the bottom. You can get a tension mount rod to fit inside the window frame and if you sew, make a flat panel with a pocket on top for the rod. Or if you have a little more money, plantation shutters would ...

You should be able to access those pockets from the attic. We were told to use a broom handle or such to push bat insulation down into there.

Could you just raise the cabinets a couple of inches so that the countertops hang over the sink? If you are on the taller side, the extra height will be more comfortable to work at anyway.

I assume you are already using the space under the bed for storage. I like the idea of shelves on the bed wall and flipping the bed to the blanket chest wall. Could you center the chest on the bed wall, build shelves on either side and above, then put a mirror on top of the chest? Maybe not, the che...
