Re: Where to stop the tiling???

My feeling is that tiling to the edge of the tub (that is, having the vertical edge of the tile line up with the edge of the tub - I'm assuming that's what you meant) is a bad idea. In my current house (not my bathroom design - PO work) I'm having problem with water coming down the outside of the t...

Re: My neighborhood listed in This Old House

Looks like a nice place to live. If only we could all just move wherever the good old houses are! There are some particular beauties for CHEAP available in remote parts of AL and GA.

Re: The soapstone is installed! Thanks for advising.

It is gorgeous! Great job. I wouldn't go with any more tin, I think it steals the show in most kitchens (unless you were going to paint it.) That wouldn't be fair to the counter tops!

Re: Decorative plates (china)

Isn't it FUNNY what these danged victorians do to you? I am not gonna let that happen! My house is way smaller than yours, of course, but I do not feel obligated to hoard knick knacks and doodads for the house. I hate to dust! And by hate of course, I mean that I don't dust, unless my mother is com...

Re: 80% club? I wish!

When my unfinished projects get out of hand, I make a list in order of the time they "should" take to complete and start with the quickest ones first. Getting anything truly done inspires me to get back on task with the others. Looking around, I think it's time I made one of those lists!

Re: Red Roof...Exterior Colors??

This one is a bit bright, but your roof is a duller red it looks like. I think a creamier color for the trim with grayish blue siding would be pretty. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://image24.webshots.com/25/3/53/76/2851353760058195855jHdqTQ_fs.jpg&imgrefurl=http://outdoors.webshots.com...

Re: Bathroom Pics...

Note size of cat (he's normal sized) in comparison to toilet size: http://inlinethumb02.webshots.com/44673/2308270970035886339S200x200Q85.jpg And if he won't pee in that one I got him a little comode (which I sit on while he baths) Your cat must be very special! Maybe he should be featured in the O...

Re: "The house of * "

Mine is a house of peace. Before we bought this place, we were in a horribly uncomfortable situation with a neighbor that threatened lawsuits at the drop of a loud footstep. Also, DH and I grew up in a pretty rural area, and now we're on 1/9th of an acre in a biggish city. But when we look out the w...

Re: What should I do to this wall?

I like the idea of matching the paneling look from the other room, but with storage (or TV) hidden inside, and you could save the bead/no bead board on the left. If the smaller existing cabinet will not work into that plan, is there another room in the house that you could plug it into? Honestly it ...
