Do you need a roof?? I like the little dormer of the Sears house too! Maybe one on each side, what's your upstairs layout?

there is a unfinished room at the front and finished bedroom room in the back. We were thinking about the dormer the other day. the stairs are kind of a head bumper with the slope of the roof and the other end of the hall becomes useless space pretty quickly. The dayton seems to have had more height to the 2nd floor than we do. Later down the road we might do a similar dormer to get light into the hallway and make some kind of over sized window seat with some drawers or something.

Rounding year one in the house so i though i would give a little update. People living in large homes dont know what there missing by living small. No real BIG major changes but all in good time, still more floor to level and things to scrap and or burn, lol.ImageImageImageImageImage

Now that you have bought your first home, OHW will soon become your second home and you will wonder how you can
do without your daily fix of both. Reading your post makes me realize what I did wrong in my life " I didnt marry an electrician" I wish I had as I have extensive electrical work that needs to be done before I can finish my bathroom and snug.
Anyway I view my restovation ( part restoration part renovation) as somewhat of an archeological dig. Gradually bit by bit I am uncovering the past with my stripping and ripping. Good luck and keep us posted on events.

Good job so far Matt. I really like your headboard and quilt. You've really been hard at work.

Well seeing how this is where i first started posting on this site it would be a good spot to say my good byes. To keep the story vary short my wife had a secret life and drug problem and she was running the finances. So I/we lost the house. But I will find a new house and wife and be back again some day, lol. But all of you have been just great and vary helpful. Every one take good care of your homes and significant other. You can fix the house but DH/DW's make it home.
