I'm not nuts about those chairs, but I will admit to really liking those walls. The chairs seem about twice as big at they need to be.

I have to tell you, I really love this pattern. Is it wallpaper, or flooring that someone put on the walls for some reason?

Flooring, and I have NO idea why it was there. That was the only place they put it.

Hi eclecticcottage...Don't POs do the darndest things. The previous owners of my house thought that old shoe boxes would make great insulation and that broken glass bottles placed in the wall cavity would keep the rodents away. I guess I will have
to get really good at ripping sheets of plywood or either bribe the guy a HD to do all 8 sheets for me ( that's just for my sons bedroom) . I would love to be able to afford real hardwood flooring but I know that will never happen and our sub floors upstairs are really uneven so I thought to use 1/4" good on one side pine plywood and rip them into 1 foot wide boards. Sounds like I am just making a lot of work
for my self.

Yeah...the POs here get a pass for some things since it was a cottage, but a few things have definately left us with wth moments. The electric is one of those things...

I like the ply painted more than stained, just imo. It has a tiger stripe look to it, to me.

Here's one of our walls, we only got some of the planks painted before it kept threatening to rain so we decided to put them up, then paint.

So, like all well laid plans, ours changed again. We're going with just plain white walls-crackle is just too expensive for what is supposed to be a budget redo. The walls are all painted and the floor got it's second coat today, it is a blue green color. We're still hoping to use our salvaged shutters as doors on our "closets", we have to bring them over today. Not 100% sure on the barn door rollers for the door, but we'll see. I am thinking of using a salvaged door as the headboard, as long as I don't need to cut it at all (so in the future it could be reused as a door again in needed or wanted).

I think nearly all projects go through adjustments that were not part of the original plan. It's all part of the "old house thing".

That room is really coming along nicely!! Working on mine now too. Wait til you actually get to sleep in there!

We might just be sleeping in there tonight. Just on the mattress on the floor, but in there anyway. We have to build the bed and closet still.
