Not really a big fan of texture either, but the rest was textured, so I had to do it all over to make it blend in. :(

I guess that's a very good reason to do the textured ceiling (since it's already like this in the other rooms). I hadn't really noticed.

It was actually pretty hard to notice in spots. Some spots were still they way they were made to be, others had spots where the texture had cracked, and fallen off due to sagging sheet rock. I screwed it all back into place of course.

Plans for this week: Knock out the rest of the first bedrooms work, and start on the last bedroom. I also would like to texture the roof in those rooms, they're the only ones without it, and I want the roof to match through out.

Should he use a primer first?

I actually asked the guys at home depot about primer vs no primer. The gentlemen I spoke with said that primer wouldn't really be needed on the paneling unless I wanted to use gloss paint, but I ran semi gloss. He also said that joint compound would be alright to just paint as it was. Not doubting anything any of you suggest, just going by what the guys told me.

Fanatic, I love seeing your updates. It's nice to see that you're taking the time to fix the old place up instead of bulldozing it and putting in a double wide. That was the advice we got from neighbors when we bought our house.

Bet you all thought I was dead, huh? lol. No, not quite. :P Looking at starting it back up this coming spring. Just been busy making a reputation at my current company of employment. You know, I need to make the money to fix this old beast haha. Me and the fiance (Wife in September, woo!) have been throwing ideas around here and there, and we've decided on some changes. The back room I refloored will be coming off totally, along with the room straight across from it. We plan to double the width on them both, and make each 10 feet longer atleast. I found a fair bit of rott inside one of the walls, so it was either rebuild it to current "Tiny by my standard" specs, or just go the extra mile (Or.. feet.) and make it a lot more livable. To tell the truth, the place hasn't gotten much attention lately. Grass is all grown up around it right now, spiders have moved in.. and I mean in lol. But I do plan to jump back on her this coming spring. I will definitely keep everyone here in tune on what I do. Thanks for being a wonderful site.
