Happy little things in my house

Postby KristenS on Sat May 21, 2011 2:17 pm

In an effort to cheer myself up and stay positive, I'm gonna show off the happy little things in my house. Hopefully, I'll have a bunch of stuff as time goes on!

Today, it's that I've got the livingroom-to-porch door open for the first time since we moved in last October. So awesome!

[EDIT: I added an inside pic of the door. Cause it's so much more beautiful from the inside. :) ]

Good for you! I found its the little things accomplished that add up and make you feel good about it all. I was never so happy as when I got my toilet working properly after two years of learning and trial and error...two years...I had a stubborn on...lol. Our homes should make us happy.

Thank you guys for celebrating my happy with me!

Today's happy is that my man and I chose our fabric for our love seat. And we put in the order for that, and a recliner in black leather. The fabric was his find, and I love it to death. I chose the blue for accent pillows. Though the picture doesn't show it spectacularly, there's a matching dark blue in the main fabric.

And here are the stock photos of our furniture.

Thanks, sooth! We were blown away by the windows and doors when we walked through the place the first time.

All of the interior doors are six-panel wood doors. The exterior doors all have glass in them in some way.

This one to the porch is the most lovely. It has a matching storm door, too. Same exact door, but no knob or hinges.

Today's happy is the little mitered corners of our molding.

The molding itself is very, very, very simple. No bull eyes, no crowns, no fluting, no flourishes at all.

Some might find that boring. (Not us!) But in the top inside corners, it fully shows it's craftsman colors. They could have just slapped the two square ends together. But whoever built this house loved it a little more than that. And I love it too. :)

I love the idea of "happy thoughts". Just like Tootles. That's a beautiful door and being able to open it and let even more light in must be a wonderful feeling. Nice miters and furniture too. :)

I thought for sure I would see clouds somewhere. (Bob Ross) That is way cool your door opened and I LOVE that fabric. That accent blue is perfect. My happy little thing today would be hanging up pictures over the tv. I tend to look at the paintings more than the tube sometimes.
