Home Office/Study Pics (pic heavy)

Well, it took 3 months longer to finish than i wanted it to, but all things in time...Here are pictures of our recently finished Office/Study. This is where we will have our computer, a nice comfy leather chair to curl up with a good book from the shelves, a great vintage stereo setup to listen to music and radio, and perhaps a place to one day write the great American novel. :)
Redoing this room involved everything from restoring the original windows, ripping up the strip flooring to bring back the random width tongue and groove pine, building a closet (so it can technically be a bedroom) rewiring, sheetrock, crown moulding and duplicate quirk bead trim of the proper height to match the original, building a new doorframe with a transom window, plus making perfect duplicate doors to match the rest of the originals in the house using 5/4 pine with thru mortise and tenon joints and pegs...you name it. I also built the cabinetry and bookcases with a bridge over the window. The room is now fully insulated, and wired with cable and cat-5 for internet.
It is being used at the moment as a bedroom while our real bedroom is undergoing the same treatment. Hope you enjoy the pics! it was a ton of work but now, definitely worth it.

WOW!!

You are VERY talented. That is a fantastic transformation!

Everything turned out wonderfully and you turned the clock back to look like a non-messed-with room.

The closet is a nice addition and the door is lovely and the transom setup is delightful.....

I could go on...

Holy cow. NICE WORKS!

I adore your floors, very much. That's what we have on the second floor of our house - I hope one day they look as nice as yours!

Huge inspiration for what my house can one day look like. :)

You need to start selling your door kits by mail order; it's just wonderful.

Ah, Jade, thanks...I still think about it from time to time, but then i think I might get sick of it and never finish my own house! Thanks everyone for your kind words. I'm glad I can put a smile on some faces.

You have push button lights. Love the look. You said you touched every detail, but you meant DETAIL. Wow.
