Owning an old home requires good stewardship, so that we can not only honor the original
craftsman who labored to build a home of enduring quality, but allow the next generations the opportunity to live in history.

VERY nice. My only complaint (and I kinda hate to complain since you did such an awesome job on this) is that I find that the knobs are much too small for the overall size/dimensions of the piece. But that's up to you.

Gorgeous! I love the stain color you chose -- very rich.

Fantastic! And it looks fabulous in the nook.

Your progress photos are almost enough to be an online tutorial for those of us less talented to try and follow, thanks.

Love your work...Was that a home made jig that I see on the table saw? Could you, would you share the plans for it? :)

Very nice job and it certainly adds much to the room. The only details I would have done differently would be to make the bottom door rails wider than the others to give more of a grounded look, and to use real mortise and tenons (see "snob" thread) jk!
Great work.

Yup! It's a simple panel raising jig I slapped together years ago. I'm a freak for making jigs for everything! I must have 30 of them for one thing or another. It's faster and easier to use for simple raised panels than taking the time to set up the shaper. It just slides over the saw fence and has a push block attached to it to square the panel and move it through the blade. It's easy and pretty quick to make one, and I would be happy to take a few pictures of it if you would like to see how it's made.
