I almost think it is some sort of cheese knife?

It kind of looks like something in that set.

I'm not really up on my utensils, though. I care more about whether or not it's clean enough than weather it's the right tool for the job...

Or it could be also a carpet or linoleum cutter,I am not much as a cook so I tend to view utensils as building tools, like using a sledgehammer as a meat tenderizer :)

First thing that popped into my mind was something for leather, or scraping the hides, but can't find anything to justify that idea. :?

Does the black case with the rose it is laying on have any connection to it or did you just lay it on that?

NO THE CASE DOES NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH IT. IT WAS FOUND IN A CLOSET AT MY WORK WHICH IS A GENERAL CONTRACTOR. I THOUGHT IT WAS FOR WALL PAPER, SOMEONE THE IT WAS FOR VINYL FLOORING, SOMEONE THOUGHT IT WAS A PAINTER TOOL? THE CURVED END COMES TO A DOWN ALMOST TO LOOK LIKE A BLADE & IS SOMEWHAT SHARP THE "U" SHAPE SPOT IS NOT SHARP

I think it is an asphalt shingle or linoleum cutter as suggested. Don

I'm gonna assume that rules out cheese knife then. I know contractors eat but they probably tend to care even less about utensil niceties than I do... LOL
