Newel Post, Balusters, and Railings

Post by susanchaney »

Hi All..

Cleaning out the garage I found this newel post, balusters and railings...I was told that they were chestnut but not knowing about wood I am unsure. How would I tell and where would I sell? Has anyone ever sold stuff like this on EBAY...Any advice would be most helpful

Thanks for all your help

Newel Post, Balusters, and Railings

Those are pretty nice, actually (not interested in buying, though :) I already have a nice staircase/balusters/newel post/railing, albeit Douglas Fir - ugh...).

Do you know if they came out of your house?

Hiya...

Aren't they beautiful?! I wish I had a place for them. They came out of an old mansion up in Northern New Jersey. Can't get anymore out of my grandfather as he cannot talk very well...

That's all I know for sure...thanks for the reply

If you want to sell them. Talk to me. We like old pieces like this for display and to also look at construction methods for duplication.
You can contact me thru my website. http://www.gingerbreadman.com
