wood walls

Postby Adrienne Boutwell on Mon Apr 12, 1999 9:50 pm

We have purchased an 1880s victorian in N.C. After removing the original wallpaper (over cotton muslin) the walls are all slatted wood, no plaster. Aside from papering with heavy canvas wallpaper and repapering or painting, is there another solution? The slats are too ugly to just paint. The house is too formal for "log cabin" walls.I think if we try thin wallboard, we will have to remove the moldings and they are in too good of shape to mess with.

Adrienne,

You don't happen to have access to a scanner do you? With a picture of these walls, I bet we could help.

I had a friend scan some pictures on 4-19-99. Did you receive them, and could you see them?
