It's a gorgeous piece in a lovely setting. What are they thinking? And why? There is no way to improve on that room by removing that hutch.

The photo shows a kitchen on the backside of the hutch, so I assume that they might want to enlarge their kitchen (which is understandable, but NOT at the loss of something as architecturally/historically valuable as this hutch).

That's kind of sad. I'm sure there's a ton of interesting things they could do in their remodel that would still look nice and classy with old original chandeliers. Who the heck is going to have enough room for these? They're SIX FEET wide and high.

Holy Moly! The last few ads here just have me so....sad, I suppose! That built-in....I would kill to have that in my dining room! That entire room is gorgeous! And of course, once they rip out that built-in...then the patterns in the hardwood floor will look haphazard & make no sense. I'm sure they'll get a nice, cheap, Lowes floor put in for an overblown price & a one year warranty.

And Sooth...you're right about those light fixtures...at that size, there are only limited places they really can fit.

Such a shame! **sigh**

A great condition set of metal cabinets. PINK metal cabinets. And a terrific sink.
