We tried to find someone to install drywall, but it was almost impossible. I'm not going to chase people around trying to give them money, so I did it myself. *insert cussing of finisher here*

There is only one sheet in the entire room that didn't need to be cut to fit square, go around an outlet, around a window, etc...

Since we widened the door and got rid of the closets there were holes in the hardwood floor. Luckily the previous owner left us a bundle of unused hardwood pieces and I managed to cut those to fit. (this picture may just look like a section of floor, but 4 or 5 pieces in the middle had to be replaced)

Crackfilling is done, Paint is going on as we speak, and the baseboards are on. I need to trim the doors and windows so I can start on the wainscoting. After that I'll put on the base shoe, crown moulding, box in the beam, and touch ups. I'm hoping to be in at the end of next weekend!

Paint is done and one wall of wainscoting is up! I will have to finish the trim around the windows and doors before I go much further.

The wainscoting was cut to 40" and then painted, but the floor/baseboards are not exactly level so most of them have to be cut (hence the unevenness, which will be covered by the chair rail). I used a laser level to get my chair rail height. You can see it sitting precariously on the cardboard box. :)

It was actually my wife who installed all the wainscoting, I toiled away trimming the windows. My grandfathers childhood house was being demolished a couple years ago, and we saved most of the trim. I was afraid it was going to be a bit too chunky for the windows but it came out looking quite regal!

I had a bit of trouble trying to figure out what to use for an apron, and eventually decided on cutting 1/3 off of the a piece of the casing trim.

Very nice work and great colour choices. I love the trim and wainscoting!

Lookin' good, lookin' good. You are much farther along on your bedroom than i am mine. I just finished putting my four restored windows back in place and now must face the dreaded demolition. I'll be jealous when you are sleeping in there and I'm still cramped in our little office.
