I was hoping to find the turpentine locally, but I guess I may have to order from Jade's suppliers.
First I went into the local Pittsburgh Paint/Benjamin Moore store. They don't carry turpentine at all. When I expressed surprise, he said I was the first person to ask for it in three years.
Then I went to Sherwin Williams. Nope. They don't carry turpentine, or boiled linseed oil either.
I went to my local Ace Hardware. They also carry Benjamin Moore paint, or at least they did until recently. I was disappointed to find out they no longer carry it. The only turpentine they had was the same stinky kind I found at Lowes. So I went across the street to Sutherlands. Same stinky deal. I decided to go to Hobby Lobby, thinking they would carry the "good" stuff with art supplies. No turpentine, but they had turpenoid, and I have no idea what that even is.
The frustrating thing is that I am really trying to throw business to my local paint store, rather than the big box stores, but I can't even get knowledgeable service at the locals.
The weird thing is that at Ace, I saw packages of blank VHS tapes for sale. I didn't even think they were making those anymore, so why can't I find the good old stuff like turpentine???
