Let the painting begin

My 1890 foursquare gets a new look.

Day 1, bright and sunny, power washing

Day 2, looks like rain, scrape, scrape, scrape

Such a pretty house! What colors did you go with?

We decided to go with the Sherwin-Williams historic colors collection, Needlepoint Navy for the house, Antiquarian Brown for the porch floor, the porch, window trim and dental work will be white. I'll decide what color to paint the storm door and any trim later.

Which white have you selected? Who knew there were so many Whites? White white, Bright White, pinkish white, butterish white, antique white, blue-ish white...and so on.

Can you tell I've been looking at paint cards, too?

Yes, many whites, many everything else too. Probably just plain old white. I'm just so happy to have it done. Happily the painters were able to get most of the old boards nailed down, probably should have replaced some. But I just didn't have the cash on hand to do so. Just one side of the house really had a lot of loose boards. They have finished nailing most of it down and it looks pretty good. Not perfect, but a big improvement.
