She's for Sale

Postby Eden on Tue Jun 19, 2012 1:32 pm

Just put my Maryland house up for sale. Bought it in 1999 as a handyman special for $110,000. Doubt I'll recoup my restoration $$ as she was in dire need and I figure I just brought her up to par for the neighborhood, but at least she's paid for.

Last summer (2011) the previous owner's grandson dropped by to see the house out of nowhere, I've been here 13 years. He teaches HS in VA and moonlights in real estate. He asked me if he could sell his grandpa's house for me. I told him I wouldn't be ready for another year. So called him a few weeks past and this is his add.

Did a great job on the website, didn't he?

I liked the direct link to local school information, not just their websites.

You might ask him to check on the spelling of "renovations." I think he's off.

Here's hoping you get your price. It is worth it.

Lovely house (wish I could buy it!), and a great ad. The pics are really nice. The agent might want to spell window with an "n"; otherwise your house has a widow that has been replicated. I think you'll do really well with that price, as Hampstead is in a good location with easy commuter access to Baltimore and PA. Good luck with your new adventure!

Thanks everyone, I'll let Mark know about the corrections, LOL. I won't have email access after 6/26, I'm moving to my farm in NY and I won't have time to get a service until later in the summer.

I'll catch up with OHW in time.

LOL, it may be, The Last Dance Farm. With an inheritance I finally realized my dream, a farm!

The farm's still listed, check out the pictures here. I bought it in April 2011 but actually paid $168,000 after my bid of $150,000, it had originally been $350,000 and kept going down for 2 years:

Nice lot Don. Like mine, your property is surrounded by trees and the pasture and lot is basically open. I think I see trees near your barn, but I have very few for the horses to escape the sun, I'm looking to buy a couple of fast growing trees for the horses. There are a few small ones, and of course the morning and afternoon sun takes turns shading the sides of the barn of which the horses have free access.

Jenn who is my heir and rents my barn, is looking to add a lean to out in one of the meadows.

I'll be back on-line this summer and am open to company in Oxford. My mule is coming next weekend and his owners are staying over, 10 hour trip from the VA/NC line. The movers are the warehouse drivers here at work and they will be up with my stuff and over night the following weekend. I always keep an open house.

Company is welcome.
