small bathroom

Post by sundine2 »

We have a small bath off the kitchen that has a stand up shower, toilet and pedastal sink. We have gutted it and now can't decide whether to put the shower back in or just make it a half bath. Hubby wanted to make it a wet room (basically open shower ) but it is only about 5x5 maybe 6x6 at the most..probably the 5x5. I told him it was way to small for that. So should we try to put the shower in or just go with toilet and sink and maybe put a chair in there. It might speed us up to do a bathroom on the 3rd attic level . Whats the minimum space for a toilet ?

I think minimum side clearance for the commode is 15" from finish, so if you have drywall plus tile take the wall thickness into account. A 30" wide cubicle is very narrow, so 33" or 36" cubicle width it more typical. Plus it's damn hard co connect the supply line or change a toilet seat with such small margins!
