Is it really that hard to apply siding, I was going to try and tackle it myself. Thanks

If you are thinking of new siding of the house, then there are a lot of siding options available for you like vinyl siding, wood siding, fiber cement, stucco etc. You can choose anyone according to your house requirements.

Applying fiber-cement or vinyl siding is relatively simple to install (you can probably find some good online tutorials on YouTube). However, wood siding is a little more complex, and you'd ideally want a qualified carpenter to ensure it's installed correctly. However, while DIY is all well and good, obviously you're going to get a better, cleaner finish if you bring in a professional, so it's usually recommended. Also, the tools you need (such as a nail gun) can be costly to rent or buy, whereas a qualified carpenter will already have the tools.
