Does Rust converter affect rubber

I have a few small rust spots peaking out under the side window rubbers and don't have time to pull the windows right now to do a complete job. I was thinking of getting some rust converter gel and hold the rubber back to apply it as a stopgap solution till next spring. Does anyone know if this will eat the rubber? Can't seem to find any info on line.
