Well water, Air in pipe issues

Postby Rochev on Wed Feb 19, 2020 6:59 am

We have oil heat/hot water and the furnace and well water pressure tank are 15 years old. Everything seems to work fine and is serviced annually. The Well-Mate pressure tank is at 30psi. What happens is when the hot water is turned on there's generally very low pressure. When there is good pressure, it lasts for 15 seconds and quickly goes away. The most irritating part is that the water will pulsate and crackle with air the ENTIRE time you use any hot water, from any faucet. Sometimes in the shower, the water will actually keep shutting off and on very quickly and feels like you're being tapped! Another thing is sometimes when you turn on the bathroom sink after it's been off for a while, it will bang and spurt out air for a second, then rushes of water will come spurting out for a while. I have used several high pressure shower heads with zero help.
Any ideas what the problem is?
