Pinterest?

Has anyone else been sucked into the vortex of Pinterest?

What do you think of it?

(edited to correct misspelling of Pinterest!)

YES!

I personally love it - it's easy to find great ideas and save them for later. Bookmarks never worked for me, and I rarely buy magazines and ripping out their pages and creating clutter isn't an idea I'm fond of.

What I do find, though, is that I can get sucked in and spend far too much time on Pinterest admiring other people's handy work when I could be doing my own handy work.

I try and make sure that whatever I'm repinning is properly sourced, so that the original person is getting the credit/traffic that they deserve for creating something awesome.

I'm just learning about it... for ME it's a way to collect bookmarks online, so they're not specific to one browser on one PC. I'm using it to "pin" recipes, design ideas, articles, stuff like that.

It's essentially a visual bookmark site married to social media, so that you can have "friends" whose pinned items you can see, and you can also see what others who aren't your friends have pinned (as in, zero privacy but who honestly expects that at this point?). You can "repin" something that you like that you see. For example, several people have repinned two things that I posted on painted floors (which I think I got from here) and on using culinary herbs in an ornamental garden.

Just discovered Pinterist ....Not sure how it all works but I love seeing what other people are doing...feeds into my curtain
twitchers mentality. I have just been invited to join so when I have something of my own to post I will be spending way to
much time on it and not get anything else done. It will become my new addiction next to surfing Kijiji.ca, which I cant
stop ever since I bought two small wardrobe dressers last year for my bedrooms and refurbed them. Now I coast Kijiji and buy furniture pieces to refurbish and sell on, the only rule I have is it cant be over $60.00 for any one single item. No more hot
dinners for my family I just dont have time now I have two online addictions to satisfy. I guess they will have to fix their
own Kraft dinner from now on.
