Meth lab

Postby McCall on Sun Apr 15, 2012 4:37 pm

So, I was perusing the online version of the newspaper in Weirton where my Old house is. I try to keep up, since we live on Cape Cod and only get to Weirton a few times a year at present to work on the place.
Anyway I see this picture on the side column of the paper, so I click on it because it looks familiar, and there is my house along with three others cordoned off with police tape, and the house two houses from mine they found a Meth lab. So all the houses were evactuated till special unit could come in from another county.

Glad the place didn't blow up! Also hope my neighbor told police we are not living there so they didn't try too hard to get us out of our house. We go there in May, I wonder if the vestiges of police tape will still be in the yard?

I hope they get those particular neighbors, the drug dealing ones out for good this time.

My brother moved to a small town in Arkansas several years ago. He says meth labs are the biggest industry in the area.

OMG...good thing that place didn't blow! Glad to know your place is safe & snug & the "closet chemists" have been found & removed.

Does your neighbor next door keep an eye on the place for ya? That's nice if they do. An extra pair of eyes when you can't be there!

Yes the neighbor in the green house right next to us tries to keep an eye, and mowes our tiny bit of lawn, but we also have ADT in the house, so far so good with that. Didn't help when we had the flood from leaky plumbing but at least no one has broken in yet.

I just hope the rest of the questionable people move out of that house there is normally a dozen or so there and people coming and going all day, and last year one guy there was arrested for molesting a minor.

Apparently, you can't get away from the knuckleheads who mess with this stuff. About a month ago, two people were injured in a meth-related fire in a Northeast Ohio nursing home. That's right...a nursing home. Apparently the meth-head was cooking it in granny's room during a visit.

I'm glad the cops cleared these losers out of your neighborhood.

We were told you can sometimes find gas cans around meth labs. I wonder what it smells like? I bet there is one around here somewhere. :x

It smells like a filthy cat sandbox, or sometimes babby formula.

meth is such a scourge on humanity AND on houses....

I used to be a social workers - ugh - meth is the worst. So hard on people and their children. So sad.
Now i'm into houses and it just disgusts me the condition that becomes of a house/room when there was a meth lab there. We see a lot of old houses around here (rentals) used as meth labs. Occasionally, you will see on the news about a huge newer McMansion that was busted as a meth lab. Either way, it is a crying shame because it is a literal black mark on the house for eternity.
