When you get a movie from Netflix just because you saw a scene from it in a biography of the the lead actor that included a bathroom feature that you wanted to see more closely.

The owner of my local hardware store has been doing this for years.shizzy wrote:.....when the guy at the hardware store sarts saying "Welcome back!" instead of hello.

Little ranch house. With a leaky roof, dead fireplace, and rotting siding.

The worst part for us is we live right across the street from the village's hardware store. There have been times when they called us!

I watch movies all the time just to see the furnishings, buildings, and other details. My poor husband will be watching the show and I'm saying OMG LOOK at that wallpaper! or WOW I need that lamp!Abuela wrote:When you get a movie from Netflix just because you saw a scene from it in a biography of the the lead actor that included a bathroom feature that you wanted to see more closely.

I love the "Silent Sunday" movies on TCM, because so many were made in the 20's and the home furnishings were of the period. Plus I've really learned to enjoy the movies as well. Heck, I should have known I was a throwback to an earlier age when my friends' favorite stars were the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, and mine were Deanna Durbin and Paul Henreid!

.....the first time you walked into your house you knew you had to buy it because if you didn't someone else would buy it and paint all of the original woodwork white.

Yup, we had that experience......the first time you walked into your house you knew you had to buy it because if you didn't someone else would buy it and paint all of the original woodwork white.
Heck, our *realtor* had that experience. She knew this was the house for us.

When you talk to your house whilst working on it and say something like this" it will be okay, we will have you back
to your old self soon" then look over your shoulder to see if anyone was around to hear you.
Crazy hey!

Oh, I'm right there with ya Farm...I always talk to the peeps & let them know I'm doing my best to get her back to how they built her! I mention that I'm hoping they're happy with all I've done so far!

Yep Utopia..I feel that I have to honor the first POs of my house as they must have slogged their lives out just to
get by and survive. I dont think they had alot, they must have been of modest means, as the house is very plain but
when I first visited the house nearly 3 years ago I had the immediate impression that they were very loving. There
is a general feeling of "wellbeing" in this house. I know that might sound cooky but I do get the"warm fuzzies" whenever
I am home. I didnt get that from my previous house, it was souless.
