You watch "Psycho" for the first time, and all through the movie you keep thinking... 'what a great Queen Anne Victorian'... 'ooh, the woodwork!'... 'look at the newel post lamp'... 'I wonder where I can find wallpaper like that'...

I was so distracted I didn't have time to be scared!

You know you're an old house owner if: On this fine Autumn morning it's colder in your kitchen than it is in your refrigerator.

Yep I second that. My kitchen is pretty much the same. Although its the room with the most heating vents in, its the room
with the lowest temperature ( even with the furnace cranked right up). Love the picture BTW, how do you say Cute! :)

You know you're an old house owner if the reason you know there are 40mph north winds blowing outside is that there are *interior* doors slamming inside due to the drafts...

You and your spouse run out of time playing one of the "find the hidden object" games because the setting is a very cool old house, and you're too busy admiring it to look for hidden objects.

If you have a contractor over and spend the entire time
Looking at old beams and explaining how you think they are
Beautiful.

I couldn't finish the whole thread yet but...

You can't drive past a pile of old windows or doors set out to the curb, even though you have absolutely no need for them, you pick them up and stash them in the shed.

You go into withdrawl if you don't check the materials and free sections on craigslist multiple times per day just in case the needed pieces MIGHT be there this time.

You can't buy 99% of needed items for your home (with the exception of framing lumber which still isn't right because dimentional isn't actually what it is supposed to be) from Home Dept, Lowes, etc.

You spend hours online scoping out pics of other people's houses, vintage appliances etc.

You go to open houses in old homes just to see what they look like and for ideas
