I have an antique screen/storm door. It was slammed and the latch that holds the screen/storm window flew off because the screw didn't bite anymore. Now that piece it gone. The latch rotates on the screw and fits into a rabbit like groove on the side of the window (that is router talk). Does anyone know what that part is called? Does anyone have a door like that? Does anyone have a couple of them that they want to sell? This is paining me.

I bet if you went to a door/window seller (not big box, if possible) you might find what you are looking for. I have a door from the 90's that has removable inserts and it has a similar type system, although the cam is shaped a little different.

As a last resort, you could probably make one out of sheet material that is the same thickness as the original.

Thanks guys for your replies. skip w you mentioned the term "cam" is that the proper term? If I use that car stuff comes up in Google and e-bay. lol. The thickness of the cam is 1/4" and is made of cast iron. I would like to keep it authentic. Someone has to have one left from a door no longer in use.

I have found a supplier for the system my door uses. It is not the same as yours but you can see the hardware kit used and the cam in the kit. It is on page 2 and is called the "easy change" locking device. If you enlarge the size, you can see it pretty well. It has the cam seated in a cup, probably the next generation of the one you show in your pic. Possibly you could refit your door with a pair of these. As a last resort, you could try a metalworker or smithy to make you one...

I hope this info helps.
