It's been quite awhile since I've check in, but I've been SOOOO busy finishing things up and moving during the FRIGID month of January. The house is now complete (well, as much as it will be for awhile) and I figured I'd share some pictures: http://www.flickr.com/photos/43977413@N02/
Still need to take the bedroom pictures, but they're really not much to brag about. I'm really happy with the sewing room, and I really think the treadles fit in this house perfectly! The dining room is also very quaint, even though we've only sat at the table once (eat most of our meals at the 'breakfast nook').
Well, just wanted to share. Hope everybody's doing well.
You must be so relieved and happy to finally be in the house. Winter is such a hard time to do major renovations and to move. So now that the sewing room is up and running, what's your first project?
My 'first' project on the old treadles was to teach myself free motion quilting on the old 15-88 treadle, and I LOVE it! Just wish I had more time to sew, but there are still boxes and organizing to be done. Will it ever end?
One thing I am realizing in this house is there is LOTS of wood. Anybody ever hear of or use a steam mop called "The Shark"? I've got a friend to has one and she loves it, but I wonder if they're OK to use on the polyurethene-covered wood floors. From what I understand, the floor's practically dry already after using it, plus it deodorizes as it cleans and uses no chemicals. Took me a good hour to 'quickly' Swiffer all the floors here on Friday.
Your floors turned out beautifully & I love your use of beadboard on the ceilings! You have accomplished so much in a relatively short time. Congratulations! Don
BTW, I have a set of sleigh bells but I am planning to use them on our driving mare!
The sleigh bells I have actually belonged to my husband's great-grandfather. I'm hoping to figure out a way to display them better. Also have the old school bell he used to call the students many years ago.
Really got to update my upstairs bathroom pictures!
