When I did one of our bath countertops (six years ago), I used the traditional cement board and thinset. If I had known about these products (if they were around then), I'm not sure I would have used them because I'm an old school traditionalist....doesn't mean you shouldn't though!!
I just did a roof repair this week and used Grace Ice and Water Shield, which is the one-sided version of Bondera i guess. IWS I love, so if Bondera is anything like it, I bet it works as advertised.
Edit to add: re: IWS: We don't call it "Bitch-a-thane" for nothing....it sticks to stuff like glue and sticks to itself even faster. If you make a mistake with Bondera, even tho they say you can reposition the tile, I would do a "test screw-up" to be sure, then you would know what you're dealing with before you do your installation.
I'd be interested to hear the report on how it works if you use it.
