If you don't have before pictures, the afters will be very "something to look forward to"

Paper film, invented here in Rochester by George Eastman, didn't even exist until the 1880s. Someone told me that it was very uncommon for the photographer to travel to the subject as in this photo... In any event, that means this guy's way too young to have built this house! Unfortunately Town Hall burned down around 1910 and most of the records were lost. I had to stop and clean this house before I refinish my floors upstairs, don't ask me why! I really look forward to the finished product. It has a third variety of pine, darker and even softer than the others. It also has about 500 sq. ft. of 2"x8" Chestnut planks up there in the master bedroom. I know I'll have to patch it in a couple of spots... There's some water-sawn 2"x8"s in pine that are here in my garage but the Chestnut?? I'll use the pine if I have to, it's the right date anyway....
