Hi skipW The buy out thing sounds cool and the effects on the partner
Would be most satisfying. I dont think Hubby would go for it though
As the partner would have more " ammunition" for the gossip mill .
Our plan is for him to patch things up for the short term and quietly
Build a new "book" of customers.

Just an update on my floor fiasco...not really done any work, but thank heavens we are still here. We did list the house 2 weeks ago, had a slurry of viewings and two offers to purchase. We thought we had listed above market value for our property but were shocked that we got an asking price offer. We declined it ( as we were only listing to satisfy hubby"s business partner)
We also fired our Real Estate agent. He is mad as H*ll and said we should expect a bill in the mail for his services. His commission if he were a "sole agent" would have been 5%, so that is all he can bill us for, if that since all he did was post an MLS listing and show a couple of clients around. Well anyhow I am glad Hubbs had a change of heart and decided not to sell. We are tightening our belts for the next 6 months until he gets back on his feet( work wise) then we are planning on buying materials or hiring contractors only when we have cash money. No cash saved, no work done. Nice to feel secure again. Our plans have been scaled back some what but that is fine.

I must say, it will be an interesting read to hear about the trials and tribulations with the agent

Glad things are looking up and that hubby is doing better and had a change of heart to stay. With luck you both will soon be secure in your updated home.

On another note, if we listed our house, I would be extremely hard pressed NOT to accept a full price cash offer on it. You have great will power. At least you now have a good handle on the value of your property!

Hi Skip w. if things had been more secure financially we may have accepted.
But with the way things are right now even an asking price offer wouldn't
Cover all our costs.
