Everything is beautiful, and I love your attic! And, you have an original linoleum rug up there too - so jealous!

Thanks, but that's just a rug.

Those linoleum rugs can be worth big bucks. I wish I had one in my attic!

I hope to move in next spring. I'm going to wait until the worst of winter is over before I sort out the plumbing. That way, I don't have to pay huge heating bills while I work to refurbish the windows over winter.

Luckily, the attic is the only room in the house that was wallpapered. (Well, there is also a sort of wall fabric wainscot in the dining room that I have to get rid of.)

Many of us have noticed that photos make our houses look better than we had ever realized. :)

Smart to wait until warmer weather for the plumbing and window work. I'm glad you're not under time constraints.

Wall fabric? Dining room? You sure that's not original? (Did I see a photo that made it completely obvious, then forget and ask?)

I've got to agree with you: the kitchen cabinet at least has to be moved out so you can see what the heck is going on under there. Yikes.

I really like the wallpaper and rug in the attic. If that rug holds together sufficiently to withstand the cleaning it needs, it will be quite pretty without being too cutesy. I think. I'm not tremendously girly, but I am a girl.

Thanks for the additional pictures, and congratulations on the new signage. Wonderful to see a deserving neighborhood on the upswing.

I'm pretty sure the wall fabric in the dining room isn't original. It was topped with pine chair rail that I was able to easily pry off with my bare hands. (also, the fabric was originally dark blue, but had been painted white... just another reason not to keep it)

The cabinets in my latest pictures are in an upstairs bedroom that was converted to a kitchen. I started dismantling the cabinet unit a couple weeks ago. The last tenant jury rigged the short, rusted length of drain pipe between the drain and the PVC p-trap, by covering it with aluminum foil, and then covering the whole "assembly" with a few tubes of silicone. The floor under the sink is very rusty, so I'm worried about what kind of water damage the floor sustained.

Thanks for the comments on the sign and the neighborhood. Two more signs were installed at the western corners of the park yesterday. It's exciting seeing the changes starting to happen in this neighborhood. A friend bought a house around the corner, and is embarking on her own renovation/restoration project. (I've already suggested she try to restore her original windows) And, the vacant house next door to mine might have found a new owner, too.

No real updates, yet. But I have made a couple new color scheme proposals. Opinions are appreciated. (and, I haven't ruled out any previous color schemes, except the green on green)

This is kind of a "redo" of the first yellow and green scheme. I think this one would fit in the neighborhood better.

This is inspired by a Sherwin-Williams example.

What is the name of the Sherwin Williams Blue in the second example pic you just posted?
