Tearing up ceramic tile set INTO cement

Hello, I am a first time visitor and new to the forum.

I have a 1931 house, a mock Tudor that has ceramic tile in both bathrooms. I appears to have been set into solid concrete of some sort. We have tried Dremel tools, a vibrating saw and even a small jack hammer. The only way so far to get the tile up (small one inch pieces) is with a chisel and hammer, and then it comes up super hard and super slow, or the tiles splinter into tiny pieces.

Can anyone suggest a better way to do this? We've been at it five hours and only have about two square feet torn up.

We are making a mess of it - some spots have come up decently, but some places we have gone through the floor to the point where we can see the subfloor. (not our intention)
