This side board is double sided (top and bottom), so that you can load the clean dishes from the kitchen. The mirrored back also folds down to allow food to be passed through.


This is the reverse view, looking through the colonnade into the family room:

The molding along the sides of the colonnade contains hidden pockets to keep the extra table leaves. Here is "closed":

Yes, and Chris built most of those amazing details - If I recall that many years ago - amazing.

Here's my dining room. It is virtually in the center of the house. Originally I think the DR was what is now my kitchen and the present DR was the sitting room - but - not any more. The fixture was something I waited for for 25 yrs - I've not seen another like it!







The wallpaper in this room I put up about 19 yrs ago. The furniture is the defination of "ecclectic" - Belter DR Chairs; Regency DR Chairs; 1930 Grand Rapids Mahogany server/buffett/table - recently refinished and is so much better; and what I think is a mess of different pieces that were put together by an antiques store - fooled me until I got it home - then I could tell that the china cabinet was not original - but a bunch of unrelated pieces that had been married - I still like it - just not as much as I thought - and not for the price I paid - expensive lesson I guess.

Now I kinda wish I could figure out how to make these photos appear bigger. Just squint, please.
The stained glass is just set up in the space--comes right out. My husband refinished all the furniture plus the floor. The woodwork had never been painted.




I picked this shot so you could see the 8-over-1 windows that face the front of the house. Every window in the house is original as are the doors and hardware. They have all been re-done with new rope. The living room extends all the way to the right--an open space that extends across the entire front of the house.



The unusual thing about this house is that it was designed as an open space. Neither pocket doors nor colinades (?) were part of the design.
