Anaglypla on ceilings (new pics)

There is about a dozen rolls each of 2 different kinds of anaglypta in my house left by the PO. I was thinking of putting it on the ceilings but was worried about lines showing. Has anyone tried this? I thought I saw some in the photos of Schag's kitchen? Did you paint it? Happy with the results?

oooohhh...what is the pattern....if its really good you might consider selling it to a certain resident of Indiana possibly...
Dont' know that I have ever seen it on ceilings though...

One is Stafford the other is Ullsworth. Made by a company called Crown Berger says some business about being made for the Queen and 1994 on the label. Both are floral like and resemble each other, one pattern is larger than the other. (I'll get pics) The ceilings are all redone and ready for something. I was thinking of using the small pattern on the ceiling in the kitchen and the larger in the dining room as dado.

I'm going to guess that I'm asking this question for a few people, what the heck is ANGLYPLA ???? Sorry, I've just never heard that term, you may think I'm ignant, but I believe theres no such thing as a stupid question . and now that I think about it, how do you pronounce that? I'm thinking ann-gli-pluh, but then I failed English in high school, can we have a phonetic spelling too?

I had never heard of it either until I found it in the house and went home and googled it, so certainly not a stupid question!

Anaglypta (anna-glip-ta) is very thick, embossed, paintable wallpaper. It is the second generation of a product called Lincrusta, which is absolutely fabulous! I am toying with the idea of Lincrusta up the stairs.

How lucky to have that left for you! My former PO's have never left anything worthwile. Yes I have been in a few homes with anaglypla on their ceilings. It looks great, can also resemble a tin ceiling. Post pics when you are done!

It's great on ceilings. If you are thinking about glazing it for decorative effect, you can at least paint the base coat on before hanging. Our associated decorative painter gal actually glazed a room's worth of ceiling paper before hanging, and the ace paper hanger we use hung it just fine pre-finished.

I have posted pictures on my photobucket with the anaglypta. Now that I actually looked at it neither will be going on the kitchen ceiling. Not sure where or if I am going to use it yet. I also got photos of the other 2 kinds of paper they left.

What do you think they were going to do with these papers? What would you do with them?

Well, I know what I would do with the "other" wallpaper (photo #8) - I'd put it on my living and dining room ceilings!

Would either Lincrusta or Anaglypta applications be appropriate for a modest, one story farmhouse (1913) with Greek Revival influence? I have been searching for ideas for the ceilings (and walls) for my home. The ceiling was originally papered over muslin over shiplap pine boards.
