Old Ontario Homes (previously why NOW?!)

Lovely house. I am drooling over it already. Oh well atleast you can keep an eye on it and perhaps have first dibs on it
when it comes up for sale again. That is if it sells now. Since economy went down the toilet old homes arent as attractive
the the general buying public so it may just sit on the market for a long time. There are old houses like that here and
whilst newer builds sell fast ( even in winter) the " Old girls" take much longer to sell. My fear would be that house flipper or
renovator buys it. In the next village ( Marmora) house renovators/flippers have bought two of the oldest houses and are
in the process of doing them up. Ugggh! not sure if they are into doing sympathetic restorations. Going into the village later today ( promissed my son a hot apple cider from Tims) and I will get pics.

Another lovely one, although I'm not nearly as interested in this one because it's smaller than my current house and has almost no property to speak of. It's pretty, none the less.

I really like the 299,000 house (the other one is boring, you're right). I have to say that the pics of the smaller house are the best and clearest real estate listing photos I have ever seen; most of the US ones look like they're cave interiors.

That smaller house photos look very nice, although I kept thinking how long it would take me to strip some of that white painted woodwork with my heat gun. Lol! (I'm in the process of doing that in my dining room and it's taken me longer than I thought because life gets in the way...)

The second house, it is boring looking, but hey, it was 'COMPLETELY REDONE BY INTERIOUR DECORATOR' - quote from the realty listing.
Mental note, never hire THAT decorator. Lol!

The first house has very similar front doors and stair trim to my house. You don't see much stone out this far west though, almost all yellow brick.

So, apparently Toronto has fewer historic homes left than I had imagined.

Edit: after reading some more, it's not a castle at all. Just a house built by some guy who had lots of money so he built a ridiculously extravagant home. Still an amazing building, though.
