Tornado's

Just sending lots of prayers & hugs to those affected by the storms. :(

Simply amazing that anyone lived through a direct hit. Seeing it all on tv over the last wek or so just shows the size of the devastation. Oh so sad.....

we got hit with very high winds, downpours like i've never seen, a green/orange really eerie sky, dime sized hail, lightening lit up the sky and was followed by the kind of thunder that made you jump...we were lucky--4 people lost their lives and there was quite a bit of damage south of us...

yesterday started out to be a nice day...about 85 degrees and sunny with humidity before the storm hit...today it is cloudy, windy and about 52 degrees....strange........

thanks everyone for your concern....

That supercell that hit Springfield passed over my house around an hour later. SCARY. I could barely see the house across the street and the giant pine in the back yard had to be swaying 20-30 ft back and forth. We got the hail too.

The second group that came through around 9pm had less rain but the lightning was nuts. They were hitting so close together the sky was pretty much continuously lit up for 20 minutes. Literally 1-2 seconds apart...

the tornado missed Abington. My kids were freaking out thinking it was coming. They also were upset at the lightening having never seen anything like it. I had my oldest record a segment of it, because in years from now I doubt anyone would believe us.

Glad to hear everyone pulled through - my heart goes out to all those who have lost their properties and worse family members..

I was on the MassPike in Framingham when the tornado warning came thru for that town. It was weird...all the rules I was taught as a kid (in OH) immediately came back into focus. If outside, find a depression in the landscape and lay as flat as possible (tornados tend to skip over uneven terrain. And if inside, get to basement (with your battery powered radio) and tuck yourself into the corner closest to the storm path (debris will blow over you). I was seriously ready to jump out of the car if the sky turned green. And that was some of the strongest lighting I've seen since coming here almost 20 years ago.

Glad everyone is okay!
