Color names for This Old House Barn

Postby barnbird66 on Sun Apr 15, 2012 5:37 pm

Does anyone know the colors of the barn on the side of Norm's workshop on the tv shows?
We need to repaint our barn and love the red and green colors of this barn.

Ohhhh your first post!!!!
Welcome to the Old House WEB!!!! :D

We are a fun picture loving group. I hope you are in the mood to share photos of your house and the barn!!!!

Now on to the color....
Not sure but you could alway e-mail TOH and ask and even then you might be surprised that what ever color you get out of the bucket might not be the playful shade you really wanted. TV monitors are like computer screens. Not all are set the same and register the colors alike (something you might notice in the TV dept at the store). And then when you do paint it, you might not like it....

Maybe you should get a few sample bottles of the colors that look like they would match from the paint store and then try them out and see how they play up on your barn....

I have no idea if it will be this easy in your area... but two main store up here in Canada (Home Hardware & TSC) both sell Barn Red Paint in large 5 gallon pails.
