1920s or 30s middle school from my home town

I never went to this school because while I identify with Munhall I actually lived in a weird pocket that was technically city of Pittsburgh. I took gymastics here, though, and got to see the gym. Not much. This was torn down a few years back now but here are some pics from someone who slipped inside. The old house dork in me in in awe. Those light fixtures... all that woodwork.. City of Pittsburgh has some awesome old buildings as well but I can't remember lights like these. Actual "school house" lights in many of the rooms. I remember having those rectangular flourescent ones with the fins...

Anyway. Ton of pics. Pretty cool. Sad they tore it down.

We still have two of the original "school house" fixtures in our place. One in the dining room, one in one of the spare bedrooms. I'm always really really careful when I am cleaning them. I would absolutely hate to break one.

A friend of mine lives on that street and thinks all the lights etc were in there when they demo'd it.

I can't believe through all the vandilism etc the lights were still intact...
