Should I Replace the Front Porch Post?

Postby Corydi on Tue Oct 24, 2017 8:30 pm

Hello, my house was built in 1950's. I had a brick column which cracked so I decided to removed them recently. I then found this wood post behind the bricks. The bricks just encased the wood post for all these years.

I'm not sure if I need to replace this wood post now as it has some crack lines. I can't tell if these are the normal check lines. I just want to make sure it's still structural sound as it's the only load bearing post on my front porch. Thanks.
