Sweet woodruff may be used as a ground cover in shaded areas. The plant spreads rapidly and bears white flowers in May. The leaves are mildly fragrant when dried. Plant in any well-drained soil in early fall or spring.
Propagation is by seed or division in spring or fall. Lift the plants and separate them into rooted pieces then replant immediately.
