Snow-in-Summer is useful in the rock garden or as a ground cover but it must be kept under control. The plant has silvery foliage and grows 4 to 6 inches high. A site with a sunny exposure and any well drained soil is suitable. The plant can be used on dry, sunny banks or other hot dry areas. The white flowers are borne in mid-summer.
Propagation is by division, seed, or cuttings. Annual division may be needed to keep it under control. Sow seed outdoors up to 2 months before frost. Plants are spaced 4 to 6 inches apart. Cuttings can be taken in late spring.
